“Roadtrip” by Aaron Feaver

Here are some new photos that were shot a couple of weeks ago with one of my favorite photographers (and one of Scott’s absolute favorites!) Aaron Feaver. It was an easy, beautiful, relaxing day with a really great team. Maybe i’m just becoming an ‘oldie’, or maybe the world really is small, but these days I’m always running into familiar faces on set. Always. Which is actually really awesome, because then there’s already a certain closeness. And if there isn’t, by the end of the shoot there surely always is.

We spent the day driving through the Malibu hills in stylist Sara Alviti‘s 1966 Volvo. Sara is a sweetheart that I met on set a few weeks ago on another job.  She collects vintage & re-purposes the pieces to fit even more beautifully – and, she knew what clothing looked best on my body (1950’s styles especially!). If you know me, you know that this makes me eternally grateful. The week prior to the shoot I was in Arizona with Scott and had developed a really weird dry skin/rash on my face. So weird! No matter how many times I scrubbed my face, the red splotches wouldn’t go away. Maybe you can see it a little bit in these photos, or maybe you can’t because makeup artist Dina Gregg did a wonderful job masking it to the best of her abilities. Then there was Maria. Maria was a model that was also with us on set. She’d just flown in from Russia two weeks before, and I’d picked her up that morning (she didn’t have a car yet). On our way driving home we spoke about the industry & horrible (hilarious) model apartment horror stories. I’ve been having a lot of juicy events & little stories from modeling lately that I’d LOVE to share…so maybe I’ll make a journal/book out of them and then a few years down the line you guys can read all of the goodness (but for now I’d like to keep my job thanks – haha).

Take a look!

Here’s another shot that I wasn’t going to post originally, but then I thought, “it’s kind of cute!”. It just goes to show that models, although having to have certain requirements, all have different types of bodies. Maria is super-tall 5’11 long-legged beauty, and I am a 5’8 petite long-legged beauty. Our bones are different sizes, but it’s all about proportions (but you better believe standing next to this amazonian beauty made me feel very…stump-like. Although the photos turned out beautifully!).

Big thank you to Aaron & Sara for putting this together.
